EXCURSION TRIP OF SRGOC STUDENTS TO ORCHHA

Updated: Jan 25, 2022

"Picnics, tours, trips and excursions are part and parcel of a college life. They provide us an opportunity to explore the book of nature. A college picnic is a wonderful way to break the ice and maintain good and healthy relations."

The importance of educational tour for college students can be better understood by the fact that it break the monotony of college life. It helps students' minds to explore the unknown, and provides immense happiness with a sense of satisfaction.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, SRIIT held its trip on the 29th of December 2021. It coincided with the onset of winters and was splendidly suitable for a day out. A total of 30 students from 3rd semester turned up for the trip accompanied by Prof. Bhawna Sharma, Prof. Hariom Sharma & Prof. Alankar Shastri.

A private bus was arranged for the trip. The journey started from Morena at 7:30 AM and reached Orchha at 1:00 PM. One couldn’t help but get the typical old-school picnic feel with water bottles and wafers-chips seating to the beats of popular hits. The journey to Orchha was fun packed and mirthful.

The cluster of students and teachers stopped by Hanuman Mandir, Jaurasi ;the first stoppage with the blessings of “Raamduta”. Then following the journey to Balagi Mandir, Unnao; it went through Raja Ram Mandir and Orcha Fort.

The place was picturesque. From colorfull flower plants cultured on the sidewalk to the neatly mowed large stretches of green lawn and the occasional chirping of unknown birds who have made this abode their habitat. Monkeys were everywhere. Students were seen capturing pictures at every corner, not missing out on any part of the striking milieu.

Time passed by gleefully and the students were summoned for lunch at around 1pm after visiting all nearby places. We take lunch at “Tiwari Misthan Bhandar” in front of Raja Ram temple. Our menu for lunch was Aloo Sabji, Puri & Sannata (a typical bundlekhandi form of raita, with loads of red chili powder in it). After completing our lunch, we all visited Orchha Fort, taking pictures at every nook & corner. We were at fort till 4:30 PM. It seemed like the best way to shed those extra calories put on during the meal.

The trip ended with the visits at Hardol Baithak, Savan Bhado Stambh & Hardol Vatika.

Then we all seated in bus headed towards Morena through Gwalior (reached at 8:30 PM), Banmore(9:15 PM) . The bus has finally reached Morena at 10:00 PM.

The journey back to Morena was more of repose and relaxation. Amidst the sound endless chatter and blithesome laughter, the memories of an eventful day slid down the lane of happy recollections to get embedded in the subconscious for eternity.
