The age of youth is our age of dreams
The age of youth and our years of university have always been accounts to hold, Most importantly it is our age of dreams. We put so many years of education for one reason to shape our future and for another reason to shape our world. But, how can we become the future of our country without enough practice on the field.
On 22 Dec 2021, Department of civil engineering organised a four day survey camp that accommodated 20 students of second year B.Tech Civil branch. Under the guidance of Prof Maharishi Saxena and Prof Veer Rawat, students facilitated the opportunity to plan the construction of a road over the area SADA (standard area of development authorisation) situated near gwalior. Surveying is the core to civil engineering, it is also an essential step towards any construction project. Although a road seems to be a simple construction, it has been a pathway to a common man's daily updowns. Maybe more than the engineer being a common person we understand it more that how little details of sewer line, levelling can affect our daily lives. Thereby the four day camp was carefully structured and guided by the faculties to teach the students the step by step planning of road construction. On first day students learnt length measurement by chain survey and centre point measurement, they learnt the use of cross-shaft. On second day students figured out the relation between the points that includes proper plotting of angles with the proper use of Prismatic and surveyor. On the third day they learnt Auto level and dumpy levels and calculated proper leveling of roads. On the fourth day everything was concluded by the plotting of plan.
Amidst, the weekends and weather conditions ,the four day camp was completed on 26 Dec 2021 been a great experience to both the professor and the students. To be able to guide the future of our country, being the professor they hold great responsibility and aspiration towards both the students and the nation.
